Senior PHP Developer
About the project:
The client is an event management platform with tailor-made support for all in-person, hybrid, and virtual events. It covers everything from payment and registration to analytics, access control, and an advanced integrated virtual venue. It is a 360° event management platform with a unique market approach that combines a modern, self-service, one-click ticketing solution with unparalleled local support, know-how, and physical ticket distribution. The platform provides real-time sales control, analytics, promotions, premium customer support, ticket scanning, on-site registration, and many other related services.
The client's request is for team augmentation. They need a senior PHP developer long-term to help their third team work with their platform and migrate to a newer PHP version.
Project Roadmap:
Phase 1 (First ~6 Months): Deep-dive "Forensic" period. You will stabilize, maintain, and develop new features within the PHP 5.6 environment.
Phase 2 (Long-term): You will participate in the migration and transition of these services to the new PHP 8.5 architecture.
Requirements:
- 5+ Years of Backend Experience: Strong seniority and a history of working on large-scale web applications;
- Strong expertise in PHP, including familiarity with the older PHP ecosystem, its security constraints, and performance patterns;
- Experience with code analysis process;
- Experience with Laravel;
- Teamwork and collaboration skills;
- Effective communication and documentation skills;
- Problem-solving and debugging expertise;
- Attention to detail and analytical thinking;
- Upper-intermediate level of English.
Will be a plus:
- Ticketing experience;
- Experience working with legacy code (PHP 5.6);
- Experience with SQL DB.
Responsibilities:
- Forensic Analysis & Maintenance: Work with PHP 5.6 codebase, understand business logic and ensure the system remains rock-solid for live events;
- Migration Strategy: Work closely with the existing Senior Developer to plan and execute the transition from PHP 5.6 to PHP 8.5;
- Participate in peer code reviews to ensure maintainability, security, and adherence to team coding standards.
